Body Contouring Procedures
There are several body contouring procedures to help men and women achieve the appearance they want. Through liposuction, tummy tuck, arm lifts, and lower body lifts, the body can be refined in ways that are often unattainable with simple diet and exercise. These procedures will give the small boost needed to turn a healthy and fit body into one that is also artfully sculpted.
Plastic surgery for the body is ideal for patients who are close to their goal weight and have concerns about loose skin or stubborn fat deposits that they are having difficulty treating through traditional methods. The procedures are not intended as a substitution for weight loss, and future fluctuations in weight or pregnancy can affect the results.
The body contouring procedures at our Newport Beach office include:
Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty) – The abdominal muscles are tightened and extra skin is trimmed to create a firmer stomach. Some excess fat may also be removed. A Tummy tuck is often performed after pregnancy or significant weight loss has caused the muscles and skin of the abdomen to become stretched and sag.
Liposuction – Fat can be difficult to shed in certain areas of the body, such as the thighs and abdomen. No matter what the problem area, liposuction can help to remove excess fat and sculpt a sleeker body contour. Commonly treated areas include the waist, buttocks, hips, knees, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, neck, cheeks, and chin.
Arm Lift (brachioplasty) – With age, weight loss, and weight gain, the skin becomes stretched and losses its ability to regain its former firmness. When combined with fatty tissue the appearance of the upper arms can tend to resemble “bat wings.” To correct the situation, an arm lift is performed. Arm lift removes excess fat and skin from underneath the upper arm and tightens the tissue.
Body Lift (belt lipectomy) – Changes in the appearance and youthfulness of the body can cause self-conscious feelings about many areas. A lower body lift rejuvenates everything between the waist and knees, including the abdomen, hips, lower back, buttocks, and thighs. Excess fat is removed and loose skin is tightened for smoother body lines.
Hand Rejuvenation – Hand rejuvenation can take on many forms, including the use of injectable fillers, chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, and other procedures. These techniques restore youthful volume that hides wrinkles and veins. They may also improve the quality of skin that has been exposed to the sun and other elements over the years.
