Exilis is an aesthetic device designed to tighten skin, reduce wrinkles and cause reduction of fat. It uses radiofrequency to heat the skin and underlying fatty tissue. By heating the collagen to 40 degrees C for a limited period of time the collagen fibers contract tightening the skin. Treatment areas include the face, neck , abdomen, arms and thighs. Cooling the surface of the skin while using radiofrequency drives the thermal energy more deeply into the fat leading to fat reduction.
The treatment is painless with no down time and typically requires 4 treatment sessions in a 4-6 week period. Many patients experience results after the first treatment and they continue to improve with each additional session. Exilis has been approved by the FDA for use in non-invasive aesthetic procedures with indications for wrinkles and rhytids.
