At Kessler Plastic Surgery, we offer both saline and silicone implants to our breast augmentation patients, with a choice of shapes and textures to fit the anatomical and aesthetic needs of all of our patients. During your initial consultation with Dr. Kessler, he can help you to determine which implant shape and size fit your individual needs and desires. To help determine which implant type is right for you, review the following overview of the implants we offer.
Round Silicone Implants — Natrelle’s INSPIRA® Line
At Kessler Plastic Surgery, we use Natrelle’s newest line of silicone implants, INSPIRA. Like most silicone implants these round silicone implants consist of an outer silicone shell filled with a silicone gel filling. Unlike other implants, they have a 95 percent average fill, which means they provide more “fullness” than other silicone implant types. This extra fullness prevents rippling from occurring and allows women of every body shape to achieve upper pole fullness in their breast.
INSPIRA silicone implants come in either smooth or textured shells, and five different projections (or implant volumes, which determine the distance the implant extends outward from the patient’s chest). Patients can also choose from two different types of silicone gel fillings: a soft, cohesive gel or firmer, more cohesive gel that holds its shape better.
Shaped Silicone Implants — Natrelle’s 410, Mentor’s CPG and Sientra’s HSC+
Dr. Kessler also offers silicone implants that are anatomically-shaped to match the natural shape of a woman’s breast. The silicone implants we offer come with a choice of either a smooth or textured outer shell and are filled with a highly cohesive silicone gel filling. This thick gel filling maintains the implant’s shape, which most closely matches the shape and feel of a natural breast. At Kessler Plastic Surgery, we offer the following brands of shaped silicone implants: Natrelle’s 410 implants, Mentor’s CBG implants and Sientra’s HSC+ implants.
- Natrelle’s 410 line of silicone breast implants are the original, and most popular, highly cohesive gel (“gummy bear”) implants on the market. Natrelle’s 410 silicone implant comes in 12 different shapes and sizes, all anatomically shaped and in various widths, heights and projections so that women of different body types can find one that looks the most natural for their build.
- Mentor’s CONTOUR PROFILE™ Gel (CPG) implant, also a “gummy bear” implant filled with thick, highly cohesive silicone gel, is a teardrop-shaped implant that comes in a range of different heights and projections to fit a variety of women, from shorter patients with wide torsos to tall patients with slender torsos, and everything in between.
- Sientra’s HSC+ implants are highly cohesive silicone gel implants that hold their natural breast shape while maintaining the softer feel of a natural breast. These implants provides a more natural silhouette and are less firm to the touch than other “gummy bear” implants.
Why Choose Silicone Implants?
Many women prefer silicone implants over saline implants because they believe that they look and feel the most like natural breasts upon comparison. And the highly cohesive silicone gel implants are popular because they more closely mimic the shape of a woman’s natural breast, for a more natural-looking profile. And since they maintain their shape and position over time, they are less likely to cause rippling or folding.
Round Saline Implants by Natrelle
Along with silicone breast implants, Dr. Kessler also offers his patients the option of saline breast implants. These implants are made of a silicone outer shell (with the patient’s choice of a smooth or textured finish) and, unlike the silicone implants, are inserted into the body empty during the breast augmentation procedure, and then filled with a sterile saline solution once in place. Though Dr. Kessler prefers to use the more-popular and natural-looking silicone implants for his breast augmentation procedure, he offers saline implants as an added choice for patients who may prefer them for whatever reason.
Among the saline implants Dr. Kessler uses is the Natrelle round saline implant line, which includes both a round option as well as a contoured option. This implant line offers a variety of sizes and projections (low, moderate and high) that are further customized as they are filled to match the patient’s anatomy while achieving the desired volume.
Why Choose Saline Implants?
Saline breast implants are considered the most economical choice when considering breast augmentation surgery. They are filled with a non-toxic saline solution that is absorbed by the body should leakage or rupture occur.
