Out of Town Patients

Dr. Kessler’s practice is about a 15-minute drive from the John Wayne Airport, in Santa Ana, California. Directions from the airport to his practice can be found here. Although Kessler Plastic Surgery is conveniently located for out-of-town patients, Dr. Kessler understands that most patients do not want to travel back and forth from their home to his practice for the initial consultation. To make the process easier for patients, Dr. Kessler has set up a system to make it easier and more convenient for long-distance patients.

Patients from out of town who are interested in working with Dr. Kessler can contact his office for a virtual consultation. To schedule a consultation, please call our office at 949.644.6544 or complete the contact form on the website.

A representative from the practice will email you the required patient information forms, including a medical questionnaire and HIPAA information. You can also download the forms yourself. Fill out the paperwork, then send it back to Dr. Kessler’s practice, along with a few photographs of yourself. Choose photographs that focus on the areas you would like operated on.

Newport Beach Virtual ConsultationsDr. Kessler will review your information and photographs before getting back to you. If your medical history and expectations for the surgery suggest that you’re an ideal candidate, he will schedule a consultation with you, either over the phone or online.

If after the virtual consultation, Dr. Kessler and you decide to move forward with the surgery, our patient coordinator will contact you to schedule your procedure and discuss options for after-care, where to stay, and what you can do in Orange County, as well as the costs of the surgery and how long you can expect to stay before returning home. Our patient care coordinator will also send you a detailed packet with information about recovering from the surgery, and how you can best prepare for it.

There are a number of aftercare facilities located near Dr. Kessler’s practice. One is Camilla’s Cottage, in Costa Mesa, Calif. The Cottage provides one-on-one care with a team of skilled nurses, as well as prepared meals and transportation to the doctor’s office for follow-up visits.

Before your surgery, Dr. Kessler will let you know when you will need to see him for follow-up care. In most cases, he sees patients the day after surgery. Some patients will need to schedule a follow-up appointment five, seven or 10 days after the procedure, too. In most cases, you will be able to fly home on the 10th day after the surgery.

Inform your doctor back home of the surgery before you leave. If you experience any complications or concerns after you return home, contact your doctor there for assistance. Our practice can refer you to a local doctor, if needed.

Dr. Kessler’s practice is conveniently located in Newport Beach, by the bay. It is near a number of resorts, restaurants and shopping centers that will make your trip worth your while. If it is convenient for you, you can travel to the area a few days before your surgery to enjoy the food and shopping the area has to offer.

Restaurants near the practice include The Pelican Grill, Mastros Ocean Club, A’s Restaraunt, Fig & Olive, True Foods, Blue Water Grill, 21 Ocean Front, Canaletto, The Beach Comber Grill, The Cannery, which features a seafood-centric menu, and is about a five-minute drive from the office.

Make the most of your trip by booking a spa appointment at nearby Pelican Hill Resort, which offers massage, skin care and nail care. You can also enjoy a day of shopping at Fashion Island, a mall with a number of retail options. Both the spa and shopping mall will give your traveling companion something to do while you recuperate.
