Facelift
The workplace is becoming increasingly more competitive each year and although a company may value experience the aged face is a competitive disadvantage. This combined with the fact that we are living longer and healthier lives has led to an increase in the number of men seeking facial rejuvenation procedures. Surgical techniques have also improved, making detectability of these procedures less obvious. Unlike woman, men do not have the advantage of altering their hair style or wearing makeup to hide poorly placed scars. This is one of the reasons male facelifting requires an more experienced and skilled surgeon.
Facelift Surgery
Care is taken to place incisions at or within the temporal and occipital hairline depending on the individual. The incision is placed within the contours of the ear to hide the scar and limit detectability. Well placed incisions closed in the absence of tension yield scarring which is often difficult to see even when up close. Placing facial structures back in their youthful position is accomplished with a SMAS technique which yields natural and durable results. Volume may need to be replaced and this can be done with your own fat limiting the need to return for fillers. The goal is to have you look just as you did when you were younger and avoiding feminizing your face.
A facelift can be combined with a number of other cosmetic procedures to enhance the your results. As mentioned areas of volume loss can be corrected with fat transfer by taking fat cells from another location of your body, such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks. A browlift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is also commonly combined with a facelift to improve the upper region of the face.

Your Face Lift will be performed in Dr. Robert Kessler's surgery center located in Corona Del Mar.
Post-surgery Recovery
The recovery from a facelift is surprisingly easy. All of the skin raised during the procedure is numb immediately. Most people perceive this as the face feeling large and tight but not painful. Pain medications are usually only taken the first 3 days. Drains are inserted during surgery and are usually removed on the second day. Sutures will be removed on day 5 and day 10. Medication will be prescribed for pain management, though the discomfort following a facelift is typically minimal. Swelling and bruising should be expected but are usually minimal. Maintaining your the head at a ninety degree angle the first days after surgery will minimize the chance of wound healing issues. Many patients resume work by 10 to 14 days.

” Patient Testimonial
Dr. Kessler came recommended to me by my best friend who had a facelift from Dr. Kessler ten years ago. He has been flying in from Dallas for his yearly beauty update. He looks spectacular for sixty with out looking like he has had anything done. Dr Kessler is an extremely skilled plastic surgeon. Who is also honest and wants the best possible outcome for his patient. I walked in wanting a face lift but Dr. Kessler said all I needed were fillers, Ultherapy, and Botox. I love the results I got. I will also be coming to see Dr Kessler for my yearly beauty check. I am so happy to have found a trustworthy surgeon who will keep me looking my best for years to come!
