With Ellacor, Newport Beach patients can experience impressive rejuvenation in the mid and lower face. This FDA-approved minimally invasive skin treatment reduces moderate and severe wrinkles without any need for surgery or thermal energy.

How Does Ellacor Work?

Ellacor is a skin treatment that is similar to microneedling in certain respects. Like microneedling, it uses thin needles to stimulate healing and restore the skin’s youthful look. However, unlike microneedling, Ellacor removes skin tissue, creating improved results.

It is able to do this because the microneedles involved are hollow. Because each microneedle’s internal diameter is smaller than 0.5mm, the penetration of these needles does not lead to scarring.

The channels created in the skin tissues are called micro-cores. After treatment, the body’s natural healing process works to repair the micro-cores. New collagen and elastin proteins are created at an advanced rate, leading to stronger, healthier, and tighter skin and a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.

Ideal Candidates

Most patients are ideal candidates for Ellacor skin treatment. Patients must be age 22 or older, and their Fitzpatrick skin type should be between I-IV.

Patients with active skin infections in the treatment area, open wounds, or certain underlying medical conditions may not be ideal candidates for this procedure. Patients with a predisposition to keloids must discuss this during their consultation. Pregnant or nursing patients are not ideal candidates for Ellacor treatment.

The Consultation

A consultation will ensure that you are prepared for the Ellacor treatment process and will help us provide optimal results. As part of this consultation, we will describe the details of the treatment, including preparation steps. We will also examine the treatment regions and discuss your medical history.

Your Ellacor Treatment Session

Usually, an Ellacor treatment sessions takes around 30 minutes. Anesthesia is administered at the start to ensure patient comfort and help prevent any pain. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, the Ellacor handpiece is moved evenly across the treatment areas until the process is complete.

After Your Ellacor Treatment

Many patients return to work after around three days of recovery time. Temporary bruising, swelling, redness, dryness, and small marks may be present; these issues will fade shortly.

During the recovery and healing process, it will be best to avoid applying makeup and other cosmetic products, picking at the treatment regions, shaving, and waxing. Do not swim or take hot baths or saunas, and avoid heavy exercise, prolonged sun exposure, and tanning beds.

After healing is complete, it will be best to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to the treated areas. This will help to avoid sun damage.

Multiple treatment sessions are the best way to achieve optimal results. Typically, up to three treatment sessions are undergone. Results appear gradually over time as the skin produces new collagen and elastin.

The cost of Ellacor treatment will depend on factors like the number of treatment sessions necessary to achieve the patient’s desired results. Price may also be impacted by the severity of the wrinkles being treated.
