Ultherapy
Ultherapy is a procedure which uses focused ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the deep tissues of the face, brow, and neck regions in only one treatment session. The appearance of loose tissues in these areas is improved through the ultrasound technology’s ability to penetrate the outermost layers and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for supporting firm, healthy skin. This means minimal to no downtime for you and that this device can be used on most skin types. By targeting the deep dermis the technology stimulates new growth of collagen. Descending brows, the relaxation of skin around the jowls and chin area, and looseness in the neck are all conditions that can be addressed with this device. This is most impactful along the jawline and immediately below the chin. This is a great treatment to maintain the youthful appearance of your face and neck or if you have had a facelift and are beginning to see relaxation of the skin of the face and neck.
The Ultherapy Procedure
The ideal candidates for Ultherapy are men and women who have noticed early signs of aging in the face and/or fullness of the neck and are interested in maintaining their youthful appearance. Many patients who choose Ultherapy have seen some loss of skin elasticity and would be candidates for a browlift, facelift, or necklift, but they would like to delay surgery until it is necessary. For some individuals, the reason for undergoing the procedure is relaxation of the skin after a facelift or necklift.
Ultherapy is performed in the privacy and comfort of Dr. Kessler’s office. Topical anesthetic and local anesthesia is administered during the procedure. Ultherapy is somewhat uncomfortable, but the threshold for discomfort as the energy is being emitted can vary among patients, which is why options to maximize comfort are given. The length of time the treatment takes will depend on the number of regions undergoing treatment with Ultherapy, but is generally completed in 1 to 1 ½ hours.
During the procedure a smooth handheld device is placed on the skin. While ultrasound energy is being delivered to the deeper tissues of the face and neck, the surface of the skin remains unharmed. The same applicator also projects an image onto a screen to allow Dr. Kessler to view where the energy should be directed.

Recovery After Ultherapy
Natural looking results are immediately noticeable after undergoing Ultherapy, and the treatment area will continue to show improvement in firmness and smoothness of the skin for up to 90 days.
Some tenderness may be felt, and an occasional bruise may be noticed but this is easy covered with make up. Such side effects are temporary and will fade soon after treatment. There is no downtime required following skin tightening with ultrasound. You may resume normal activity the following day, as well as strenuous activities.

” Patient Testimonial
Dr. Kessler has my complete confidence. I selected him by doing the research; I am a new resident of NPB. He is exactly what I was looking for: a brilliant Dr. and surgeon, BUT, he is also a scholar of the human form. He sees what was and how it might be refreshed. He is beyond personable and friendly. I rely on him for Botox and had Ulthera. He will tell you what changes age is bringing and how, and how soon to refresh. His methods (again research) are the best. I previously had a consultation with an M.D, F.A.C.S. to the stars and fled quickly. I had Botox with a dermatologist and had a numb spot on my cheek for 90 days. I am going to the best for anything concerning my health, including Botox or any other “cosmetic” injectable. When the time comes, he can address anything more aggressive. I recommend Dr. Rob Kessler to friends and acquaintances regularly, and most recently after observing injectable “mishaps” received from other local providers.
