One of the first hyaluronic acid fillers to come to market, Restylane remains an excellent choice for restoration of lost facial volume. For a non-surgical solution to the natural effects of aging, Restylane can help to reduce wrinkles, sagging skin, by restoring volume to the face. Results are visible right away.
How Restylane is Used
Restylane is used to diminish fine lines and wrinkles in the glabellar between the eyebrows, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Restylane can also add volume to the lips and help raise depressed scars.
Dr. Kessler will determine the best sites and the appropriate amount of Restylane to inject.
A topical anesthetic may be used to numb the area to minimize the discomfort, though many find the experience to be tolerable without it. The procedure is completed in a matter of minutes.

Your Restylane will be performed in Dr. Robert Kessler's surgery center located in Corona Del Mar.
Cold compresses can be used to minimize any temporary swelling following treatment but are generally not necessary. There is usually no downtime associated with Restylane injections. Bruising may occur anytime a needle is used but this is not typical. Makeup may be applied afterwards. Rare reports of injury to the skin and blindness have been reported with the use of all facial fillers.
Restylane is a temporary treatment which typically last 6 to 8 months. The product will gradually diminish and timing subsequent treatments will be at your discretion. The procedure may also be combined with other types of dermal fillers or Botox.
- 01 What is Restylane?
Restylane is a clear gel Dermal Filler, comprised of Hyaluronic Acid, a substance found naturally in the human body (connective tissue, skin, cartilage, eyes). Restylane injections can increase the body’s production of Collagen, smoothing fine lines and creases, as well as plumping the lips and smoothing facial scars.

The best candidate for Restylane injections is a man or woman, frustrated with the lines and wrinkles associated with aging, and who holds realistic expectations for the treatment.

I am a very hard person to please but I am very pleased with Dr. Kessler. I have gone to other plastic surgeons who make me look too overdone. I like Dr. Kessler because he is very patient, he listens and he works well with different personalities. I let him know that I don’t like the overdone look and I prefer a natural look and he gives me exactly what I want. I have gone to him for Botox and fillers and I always love the result! I have referred my friends to Dr. Kessler as well and they have said the same, he is so nice and does great work. It’s hard to find a surgeon who is not full of him/herself, thinking they know it all. Dr. Kessler listens to his patients concerns then gives feedback and his thoughts. He is not pushy and very respectful to his patients needs.
